    • RE: Needing assistance to interpret a reading, please!

This is the most positive reading I've come across in a long time, maybe ever. The lovers card is one of the simplest cards in the deck-the card of human love. Throw the 2 and 3 of cups in there and we're talking about a relationship ordained by the gods, supplying reciprocal merriment, solace and healing. I don't know what the future has in store for you specifically, but you should take great solace in this spread. Whether or not he proposes to you in the immediate future, I suspect you have struck gold with this one and you should definitely just relax and be grateful to have found such a compatible lover. And be patient - because your feelings are mutual.

Having said that, I get the impression you'll be married soon; it's a slam dunk as far as readings go, but the Lovers card doesn't entail marriage. It entails love, just as marriage does. The ingredients are there, for both of you, so carry it like a faberge egg. And congratulations, and let us know when he pops the question!

    • RE: Tarot spread - what does this mean as his feelings for me? (strength and devil +)

Strength and the Devil together seems ominous. Remember this is the strength involved in the taming of passions, which is why the figure on the card is closing the lions mouth. The devil is the things we chain ourselves too, so often it's temptation and attachment-desires.

This plainly reads as temptation and the flavor of energy used to resist it. Be prudent.

It's hard reading for yourself isn't it? I also use the Waite deck so I'll try to be of some help.

Under the seven of pentacles in the pictorial key Waite refers to a bible verse: Where a man's heart is, there his treasure will be also. I've heard it interpreted in a variety of ways, but I try to stick to the textbook that was published along with the Arthur Waite deck. So after studying what he wrote, which is always somewhat ambiguous, I've come to think of the seven of pentacles as "That which you treasure and toil over." Take care not to accept a position that will make you miserable, even if the money seems worth it at the time. Make sure the juice is worth the squeeze.

There's a familial element to the ten of pentacles as well. It's gain, and riches, but also family matters. The people closest to you are more of an asset than you realize, you might consider opening up to them and prodding for suggestions, ideas or just put the ball in their court and be receptive to whatever they say in response. You might be surprised at what they have to offer.

    • RE: New to Tarot & looking for advice

@SET If you're using the Arthur Waite deck, which is the by far the most popular, I would start with Arthur Waite's pictorial key to the tarot. Otherwise, Tarot of the Bohemians. They're both difficult reads, and sadly, a lot of readers skip this step. It's like a psychologist who skips college, it makes no sense, and I really can't overstate the utility of knowing what the cards were intended to mean when they were first envisioned by Arthur Waite. All other interpretations are really arbitrary. Learn what those cards truly mean, from Arthur Waite's book, then narrow it down to one to three word definitions so that you can read fluently; that is to say, turning over card after card while verbally defining each one without pausing. Then the hard part begins, lol - interpreting spreads. It takes practice, there's no way around it, but I can offer you one tip here and you can message me if you want to talk more, but this is so important: don't be afraid to ask questions. You read cards, not minds, and the more you know about the querent the better you can decipher the messages in the spread. Don't be a cold reader, That's so 90's... So ask lots of questions, because they want to talk to you about it, they want answers and they will help you find them. Best of luck!

    • RE: Interpreting the World card in a self reading

      So here's what Waite says:

"The rapture of the world when it understands itself in God." "The state of the soul in the consciousness of divine vision reflected from the self-knowing spirit."

And some other spooky stuff, but it's how the Fool sees the world, in all his wisdom. As an obstacle it must mean a perceptual error, but I'd have to see the rest of the reading before I could say more than that.

When looking at that circular reef remember: when you look at zero you see nothing, but when you look THROUGH zero, you see everything. Mic drop.

I'm very sorry for what you're going through. It's the worst feeling in the world, like getting set on fire. I'll go through a reading with you if you want, you're not alone. And you never will be.

    • RE: Can someone help me with this relationship reading?

I can assure you there's nothing foolish about the fool. The card is ironic; the fool is the enlightened one. In the pictorial key it is said his countenance is full of intelligence, and earth and its trammels has no power to restrain him. Or little power I think...

He is the one who has no attachment to this world. He is liberation.

Neither is he walking off a cliff. He's stationary, although the dog in him is barreling quickly to his doom... but so is the dog in all of us...

...either way I would redefine this man or woman as a rather wise person, or one with great potential for wisdom. You can message me if you want to talk more, but I really wanted to redeem the fool's reputation real quick.
