Your thoughts on stress induced abandonment by Cancer people are interesting Captain. I'm of course writing from the perspective of a female crab. ( I think there are definite differences) I think many Cancer's run into a problem in relationships because it's difficult to create happy mediums within them. We want to be shown love and affection that will prove to us that we can feel secure and safe with someone. However, it is probably then, when we feel wrapped in all those feelings, that we realize we can drown in them if we don't get some distance. For a sensitive crab person who senses the changing tides of emotions as well as real crabs intuit the changing tides of the ocean, the only workable solution to feeling so overwhelmed seems to be creating physical space between themselves and the one they love.

I don't believe that Cancer people love to play games just to mess with people. I think when there are issues that need to be sorted out in our lives we create distance so that we know the final decision was really ours and not our partners. The accusations of game playing come into this mix because when we run to our shells and try to figure things out, we a) don't tend to share our inner process with people and b) we want to know that we are still loved and adored. That seems to be the crappy part. You love a Cancer, they bail on you without explanation of why and yet they seem O so hurt when you question them or act like you are anything other than loyal and loving :-0

Crazy for sure and most people would run for the hills if Cancers were like this all the time. I think the guys get a worse rep for abandoning ship just because of basic communication differences between men and women. A girl crab can go quietly into her shell and most guys won't question her on why she seems distant and quiet. However, how many women would not question a guy that does the same? I think that's where the Captain pointed out that Cancers are avoiding pressure.

I don't know how old you both are but if she has had much dating experience, she may have been hurt by guys who love the thrill of the chase more than capturing and keeping this girls tender heart. Just a thought. As a cancer chick, I can tell you that she has prob ran multiple worst case scenarios in her head about what would happen if she poured her heart out to you. @ Zizzlegirl- The aries and cancer not being compatible is a general statement about the two signs approach to life more than anything else. I love the trait of boldly jumping head first (ram joke) into work, life and love that my aries guy has. I'm way more cautious. I sit back and assess things. Together we make a good pair because we balance each other. He dreams and schemes then I sit back, assess and make a plan to help bring them to fruition. We have always had insane chemistry. The conflicts with an aries and cancer pairing usually happen because both are cardinal(leaders) signs. Cancer is usually pretty happy to have the aries person believe they are in the driver's seat while they will secretively tweak things to their liking. Fireworks can result when the two signs have a big disagreement. Because we both seek to pilot our own destinies things can get really intense if the big life goals of the aries and cancer are different.

Welcome to a place where extraordinary people frequent.;-) Have you been into astrology for long? I ask because often an Aries/cancer relationship is tricky business. I'm married to an aires and have friends who are aries. However, I think it works because i have a lot of air and fire in my chart and the aries i'm close to have a lot of water or earth signs in theirs. Even with that in our favor, the relationships i have with these bold, fiery, mars people are not laid back or easy! They are exciting,adventurous and push limits of understanding. Lol.

So, i guess my question to you is..Do you know what both you and this cancer guy are looking for in a relationship? If you think you are looking for similar things then please get your charts done. Honestly, it will give you a lot of insight into what you would both be in for. Remember water can douse a flame and fire can evaporate water. Good luck

I haven't been on here in a long time but the plea for cancer help drew me in. Lol. I responded to your original post along with Brian Tristan. I don't know everything that has gone on with you and cancer boy but it sounds like things have NOT gone like we all had hoped.( His loss for sure.) Kaplow, I stand by my belief that this guy really does see a future with you. Astrology people say cancer represents a young teenager. Lmao. What they are referring to is our inner emotional workings and in that sense they are not far off base. When things are going wrong in the life of a cancer, they will dive into the safety of their shells and analyze, hash over details and sulk til they feel they have found a way to turn things around. Think back to when you were fifteen... If a boy didn't like you, it would drive you crazy and you would obsess about it. If you were a cancer, my scorp friends were similar, you would do all this without even your best friends knowing about it. @ 15 if a boy you liked DID like you, you would feel about the same. Lol. The difference is that you would be on cloud 9. Thinking"This is great! Finally, someone who gets me & loves me for who I am." But then you start to think, is this guy really the one? Will he always love me? Will he love my family and friends? Will he understand when I'm hurt or scared by something and need to hide in my shell til I feel better?

The problem is ladies, that many cancers stay @ this emotional level in relationships. One of my good couple friends are scorp girl and cancer boy. They didn't marry til their late 20's. He said he wanted someone who, in all aspects, would be a great fit for the life he envisioned for himself. Even after they had first started to date and things were great with them he would go m.i.a. The courtship took about two years. At first, my scorp friend was patient then, about 14 months into it he did his disappearing act and she blew her top. When her cancer boy came out of hiding, she told him," Look, I love you. I think we are a great fit. I'm not playing games with you to break your heart. But when you pull back emotionally or just disappear for days on end, it breaks my heart and makes me feel like you are playing with me. If you want to honestly pursue me and be available to love me back, then we can keep seeing each other. Otherwise we need to end this because you hurt me when I think things are great and you disappear." This seemed to have backfired because he went into his shell to analyze what she said. The cancer boy realized he didn't want to lose this girl though and stopped his disappearing act.

This long winded story has a moral.. The Cancer man craves a little drama and also loves to test the strength, intellect and moxie of someone he wants to be serious with.
