I had the most profound experience with a reconnection to people from my past that I it brought me to tears when I hung up the phone. There was at one time a few years back a close group of Pagans that I was involved with. we get together and hold ritual for the Holidays, hang out and practice our Magick, share stories with late nite coffee and cigarettes. You name it, we did it. Then just as all of us thought that things were going great together one person in the group particularly decided to take total control of the group dynamics and decided that she wanted to be the one in "charge". Which didn't sit well with the rest of us and one by one it drove us apart. Now that we are separated and in different states we haven't talked to each until recently. I picked up the phone and called one of them and spent 3 hours on the phone with her. We talked about the old times and what we've been up to lately. It was good reunion and I was happy to have taken the opportunity to reconnect with all of them. And the strange thing was that it was 2 years to the date that I talked to her and that was when I had gone through cancer treatment. I believe that it was not a coincidence that I talked to her again on that day 2 years later. I wanted to cry when I hung up the phone. It was great to finally hear from her and reconnect.

I just wanted to say that having experiences with the otherside is not all that uncommon, especially after someone who you were close to leaves us so suddenly. I know from my own experiences that this is all together true. I experienced something similiar to this when my husband's grandma passed in 2002. My husband was the apple of her eye and likewise my kids. She literally waited until we got to California a week before she died, while whe was hospitalized and on her deathbed. She waited until we all got there just to tell us bye in her own way. By the time we did arrive in California she had had multiple strokes and was unable to talk to us or even open her eyes, but she knew we were there in the room. A week later she passed and we went back out to California for the funeral. That night when the family had gone back to the house my youngest daughter had fallen asleep in the car and we had taken her in the house and put her on the bed as I was leaving the bedroom I heard my husband's grandma call my name twice and then the room filled with a heavy scent of roses that lingered in the air. I told my husband to come and smell what I was smelling and when he finally got to the room he couldn't smell the roses, but I still could. When the day came and we had to leave to go home the car smelled of roses and for a week afterwards my kids' bedroom smelled the same way. I took the whole experience as a sign that she had passed on just fine to the otherside and was ok and wanted to tell us that she was ok and not to worry. Throughout the years I have had several experiences like that. My adviice is that anything that you notice around the house that may seem odd or little habits that your dad may have had that seems to be reoccuring, these are just little ways that he may be trying to communicate with you and those that are close to you. Keep your eyes open and watch for the signs they are everywhere. Blessed Be.

You are very welcome RC, and I do hope that it helps and that you can offer the protection and solace that your granddaughter is needing when she becomes frightened. As she grows up and learns more and starts asking questions you can always explain to her that this is a gift and it is something that she needs not to be afaid of. She may one day be the next Sylvia Browne, who knows. For now try out the candles and sage and see if that helps. Blessed Be.

You can use either ground sage that can be found in the herb/spice isle at your local market or bundled sage that can be bought online or at a local pagan/wiccan shop (if any). You would burn the ground sage on charcoal disks that can also be purchased at a local pagan/wiccan shop and the bundled sage can be burned as is, just make sure that there is a fireproof bowl/container that is used because it can get hot and there is a lot of ash. Either method is effective. And being that your granddaughter is only 2, I know that it can be difficult for her to verbalize what she seeing, but that is the best that you can do is try to reinforce that she will be ok and that you there for her becuase she is so small. But I have learned over the years that children often posess that gift of sight because they are so innocent and have not been corrupted by the ways of this world. It truly is a gift to see the world or the other world through the eyes of child.

You are not alone when it comes to kids seeing things, hearing, smelling and the like. All three of my kids posess the same talents/gifts. And throughout the years they have come to terms with that idea and I have done my best to help them out with it and try to understand what it is they "see" and "hear" and the things that go bump in the nite. My advise is ask your grandaughter if what she is seeing is scary, mean , etc.. and if it is you can always cleanse your house using the smoke of sage and holy water and asking the spirit/ghost to leave the house and go back to the light and to croos over to the other side. You can also light a white candle in your living room and say a prayer as well if you do not want to got through the saging thing. Just ask for peace to decend upon the house and everyone in the house and for all who enter. Let me know if that works.
