OH, where to start??? Like most people, I tend to focus on the things that are missing from my life, but when I stop to count all the blessings I DO have, I'm overwhelmed. To start with there's my family, who are not only loving and supportive but also just fun to be with. Next are my friends, who are so generous and so loyal, and so patient when I get wrapped up in my life and take weeks to return phone calls & emails. Sometimes I wonder what I've done to deserve their dedication. After them, I am thankful for my job, especially my boss & coworkers, who are quick to pitch in when needed, and equally as quick with thanks and praise for a job well done. Having spent 5 years in my last position working for a boss who was insecure, threatened by competency, and just plain lazy, I still marvel at how wonderful it is to work with people who value you. And in this difficult economy, I'm grateful that the financial firm I work for was wise enough not to invest in risky ventures, and is therefore solvent and still providing me with a paycheck. I'm thankful that said paycheck allows me more than just the basic necessities, but also the means to travel and see the beauty that the world has to offer. Finally, I'm so lucky to have my darling cat, who has taught me patience, love, and how to just stay still and enjoy the moment.
Happy Thanksgiving, and Blessings to you all.
