I really need spiritual help

  • my family and i have had this dog for about 3 years now and she is so sick now. we have taken her to vets many times but its always one thing after another with her and i dont know what else to do besides pray and we take care of her the best we can. shes all skin and bones right now because she hardly even eats, shes blind and we had to take her teeth out because they got all rotten and now her jaw is all messed up. now we think about putting her to sleep but we just cant do it! we are tired of having to watch her suffer but at the same time its too hard for us emotionally and mentally(spiritually also). please, somebody is there any hope for her?.

i dont know when she was born because we didnt have her since she was a puppy but she came into my life on january 24th,2007 and my birthday came 6 days after and i was born in 1989.

  • You must put your dog's best interests above your own feelings. She will die soon anyway, better than she goes out in peace than in great pain. Do what is right for her.

  • we are trying. everytime we let the vets handle her something else goes wrong.

  • @watergirl18:think of it this way,the vets here want rediculous amounts of money to put her to sleep and i dont want her to die scared and confused either. i mean think about it,her last memory will be in a cold room around strange people with no clue what is going on and they are just going to toss her in a trash bag afterwards like shes nothing. plus, euthenasia(sp?)is something i never really believed in. i agree with captain, she will die soon anyway so we much rather have her die naturally at home knowing we never left her. thanks for both of your input.

  • Hello Kageroninja

I want to share with you the experience I went through with my cat. She had breast cancer, it was discovered when she was six years old. We got her from a shelter when Abby was 8 months old. I took her to have surgery and was told that she had a high level of cancer, but we took her to a specialist and she had chemo. Abby was quick to recover only to develope another tumor in two years. Long story short- We loved Abby dearly and we had to make the deceision to have her put to sleep when the cancer went into her blood stream which means it was spreading. My husband loved Abby like a child, he set with her until she died. I than had a dream in which Abby came to me and was so happy she could ran and I bent down and pet her and she felt so alive. The communicator told me that Abby said thank you for letting her go as she was trapped in a body that could not fuction and serve her well any longer.

Please find a clinic to take your dog and they will do this service much cheaper for you. It is not unkind when they are suffering, the dog will come back and visit you in spirit and watch over you for awhile , as animals do.

  • You should reconsider taking your dog to the vet, as watching her die in your home in great pain and suffering will not be good for her or for you. It will not be a kind or painfree death at home so don't fool yourself into thinking it will be good for her or for you. She will not just go to sleep like she would at the vet. It will be a terrible struggle for her - don't put her through it. This is the time when you must be brave for your dog, to repay all that she has given you.

  • thank you shuabby. i will consider what you said and yes watergirl18 we intend on burying her in our yard. i will still pray long and hard on this and see what the good lord wants to do with her.

  • My Dear.I know perfectly well what are you talking about. Put the dog dawn showing in that way your love for him . it will be crying, it will be hard time. but it is the only thing to do for your friend, don't esitate ,his life is hell.after a wille, take a nice puppy who well fill your lives with joy and demanding tasks, conforting you . Give him all you have learned about compassion and love, making a good think for the memory of your Friend. wish you luck.,I had a beloved dog dieing in my arms,it took hours,I will regret for ever that I did not shortened his torture...

  • I'm really sorry to hear what you've been going through. I went through something like that with a horse I owned years ago. Its heartbreaking. I'm just wondering if you've tried anything alternative...now I know its probably best to put the poor creature to sleep BUT while you're trying to bring yourself to do it (which is hard)...would you maybe look at Reiki...it is very powerful and I know from trying it out myself on animals that they really react to it...it might work or help even...in my eyes its worth a try. Stay strong xx

  • I still feel guilt for trying to save our dog that was poisoned. We loved her so much. In the end, we just caused her more days of agony. He is in pain and holding on out of love for you. Your heart is pulling you both ways. Let him go with love. Prayers...

  • I'm so sorry to hear of you and your family's dogs pain. I was in the same dilemma w/ my cuddle buddy of 17 years we just put down. I did everything in my power to keep him alive, he had to have fluids everyday under the skin..kidney failure.. and finally realized I was being selfish, that he was suffering and no amount of my love could compensate. I vacillated and wrung up enormous vet bills also trying to find ways to help him last longer. It is a horrible choice and never easy but if yours is suffering you must let him go. I truly don't mean to be insensitive or unkind or to project my experience onto you but it does seem selfish to have the dog suffer so. My heart goes out to you..putting my beloved Jyuri down was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do.

    Blessings

    P

  • @shuabby:i never had a problem with any of the advice given here to me,actually i appreciate some of the advice given in this thread alot so thanks to all of you. everything seems to be pointing to just letting her go so today we finaly made the descision to put her to sleep. yeah im sad but at the same time i know she"ll be in heavan and will no longer feel pain or suffer in anyway as she watches over us from the great blue. again thank you for all of your guidance.

  • Those we love never really leave us. They just change their form. It's actually easier to be with someone in your spirit form than it can to be physically close on the earth plane.

This beautiful poem may help - it has helped me when my pets have passed over.

    "THE RAINBOW BRIDGE

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.

There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.

There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.

The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together...."

  • i think i read a poem like that somewhere else before its very beautiful. anyway, last night i had a dream about her but im really not sure if it made sense to me...i dreamt that we didnt put her to sleep after all but instead left her somewhere for a couple of days or something like that..she looked the same as the last time i saw her and if not maybe worse and i kept trying to tell my family that she needs to be put to sleep it was just very wierd to me and not what i wanted to see. what does this mean?

  • That dream was a 'hope' dream - you wish you didn't have to do anything and that your dog would be OK on her own. But you know she won't be.

  • yeah i thought maybe i was being told "you and your family made the right decision by letting her go" and "you wouldnt have liked what would have happend"(the vet said the same thing you said captain about her not dying peacefully)through the dream. i also did a tarot reading for some guidance.

i asked "where is she and is there anything she wants to tell me and if so what is it?" and i got the 4 of wands, king of wands,5 of cups and 6 of pents.

to me the 4 of wands denotes that she has made it to the other side and is now happy and thriving

the king i guess could represent the heavanly creator taking care of her.

5 of cups is probably her saying "dont cry,i know that you tried." "it was just my time to go."

and 6 of pents probably means she wants to thank us for all that we have done for her and all we have given her. now she will return the favor.
