  • Jen, 2021 for you will be (if you choose to embrace its energy and direction) a year of hard work, study and development. It's "nose to the grindstone" time, a time to deal with practical matters and to save your money, and it's not a time to be lazy or especially gregarious. Often it may feel like a year that is hard, monotonous and routine, and/or lonely. But you don't need any distractions, anyway. Advice - get yourself together, work to build your resources, keep busy. It is a year of ‘digging in and hoeing the earth’ of your foundation, a re-establishment of self-control. In many ways, however, it can be a frustrating year, when considerable effort fails to produce dramatic results. ‘One step forward and two steps back’ may seem to be the case most of the time. This is an organizational period and you must look at your current and past performance in a very hard light. It is a time to get busy and bring yourself down to earth. Responsibilities will increase, magnifying the effort and hard work needed to maintain a reasonable level of existence. Health and diet should be carefully scrutinized this year, as physical resistance can be low and you may become more susceptible to ailments. A tidying up of affairs is now in order, as you must make ready for a very hectic year ahead in 2022. 2021 is a year to sharpen your skill set. You’ll want to be pragmatic and realistic rather than 'pie-in-the-sky' now. Take the time to slow down, steady your pace, and become more methodical about which goals you want to focus on. This is a more serious year than last year, which may have been full of 'fun and frivolity', and it requires some hard work to set the foundation for whatever you’re working on: job, future, security, relationships, family etc. You’ll need to forgo 'Happy Hour' and stay a little late at the office, study or school to finish up that important task or think through the way you’re wanting to systematize your project. While it may feel a bit thankless at times, you’ll reap the rewards when you accomplish your goals step-by-step. Your theme: Slow and steady wins the race in 2021! This year’s purpose for you is about getting things done. Red Flag: Potential burnout. You’ll have to consciously take time for self-care. Start putting those time-outs, relaxation periods, and short breaks on the calendar now, because 2022 will be chock full of BIG changes and opportunities for you. You'll need all your strength and flexibility to cope with next year's adventure and expansion.

2021 for you will highlight a need to consolidate your energy and resources so that they are strong enough to support your future growth. For example, if you know that you have three more years of study left for a degree, you can learn to pace yourself physically and consolidate your finances to make sure you have enough of that energy and those resources for the course. Indeed, as the vibes of the year are associated with personal responsibility, then they can help you to focus on what you need to do to survive. During 2021, you may be preoccupied with money, property or your body. Perhaps you make fundamental changes to your life, such as moving home, altering your diet or changing careers. Or you may want to change the basic structure of a relationship. These changes may be dramatic, or you may make dramas out of them, but if you choose, the slow determination of this vibration means you can keep calm by taking one step at a time. Practical changes to your routine may be welcome, particularly if you have been feeling stuck in certain areas of your life and it has become too monotonous. However, you are learning to build a sense of inner security so that you can feel safe within yourself, no matter what happens externally. Indeed, this cycle may feel like a physical endurance test, but it might well make you stronger in the long run. You may consistently work towards goals this year, perhaps working harder than during other cycles, but now you have the staying power to follow them through. This earthy energy will make sure your feet are planted firmly on the ground, perhaps by giving you practical conflicts to sort out that keep you focused in the material world, or by bringing out a realistic streak. Goals that were started back in 2017 may materialise or take a firmer form during this year. It can be an altogether constructive year if you are willing to be systematic and ready to change any of your approaches that are now outdated. 2021 is a great time to develop friendships and to get in contact with your passion for life. Friends are important because they are not family – to whom you may sometimes feel obligated – or a partner who may also be a great friend but with whom you are close. Friends can be objective and they can fulfil many different roles. You may find that you spend more time with your friends than usual during this cycle, perhaps because you need their support, or simply because you want to. In 2021, be aware of the hobbies or interests you have in common with your close friends; it may help to reconnect you with your gifts and bring you alive and in touch with your passions. But bear in mind - 2021 isn’t for weenie-roasts! This is a year where you’ll need to dig deep into your reserves, fortitude, and tenacity. Don’t shy away from the requirement that you define your long-term goals and begin to set them in motion. This is a year that must be devoted to getting your ‘house’ in order. And avoidance or denial just won’t cut it. This is the time to set up some systems that serve to make your life easier and more productive for the next four years, if not for a longer duration of time. This can be work-related systems and it can be systems that you use in your home and personal life. You’re building upon whatever self-improvement you focused on last year. Plus, there’s a strong chance that you’ll be starting to put certain creative ideas you “birthed” last year into solid form this year. So you’re bringing in the magic from 2020 and taking it to the next level, if that’s what you’re serious about manifesting in your life. It will feel good to start putting your ideas into focus and to take them seriously. This is a year where the mandate resides in getting clear about some longer-range goals. What’s in your viewfinder? Are you feeling pressed to make some really vital and important decisions about where you’re heading on a grander scale?

    Benefits of the year:
You’ll feel the positive results of following a step-by-step process.
You’ll feel empowered when you’re working systematically with a practical project or an issue.
You’ll enjoy and have success when you pay attention to details.
You’ll have the opportunity to practice flexibility even as you’re focused on completing a task.
    You’ll feel stable and grounded.

    Potential Challenges of the year:
Be aware that if you struggle with the destructive aspects of the year, you’ll feel less than enthused about diving into all the hard work the year requires from you.
Protect yourself from procrastination and stubbornness by embracing the fact that this isn’t a year for fun and frolic; rather you’re required to keep your nose to the grindstone and methodically set the foundation for what’s to come.
Be prepared to default into a “control freak” mode. Bypass the tendency to be bossy and instead focus on the good of a project as a whole, even if it’s your marriage or relationship with your father/mother/siblings, rather than a work-related project.

The Question you must ask yourself in 2021: “What are my long-range goals and how can I implement them?” This is a more serious year requiring hard work to set the foundation for whatever you’re working on. This is a year where you’ll be tempted to either over-work or under-work. But if there’s any year that should be looked upon as a marathon needing pacing and well-planned breaks, this is it.
