Are you living the life you were meant to live?
From Daily OM: Living your bliss
Blissful waves can carry you through your day if you recognize that you fully accept life as it should be. This realization that you are truly living your life with joy can fill you to overflowing and touch those around you. So many of our struggles in life come from expectations of how we think life should be. But when we take the wisdom and power of the universe into account, we can trust that a higher power is at work and that our choices combine with universal law to create a tapestry of incomprehensible beauty and intricacy. And once we have put all these pieces together, we can feel that we are in the right place today, and that the right time is this very moment.
We can bring ourselves back to this center point in the space of a breath. Whenever we feel in conflict with the way things are unfolding in our lives, we can close our eyes and take a deep breath to realign ourselves with the wisdom we are carrying. When we open our eyes again, we can exhale with conviction, blowing away the drapery of illusion and again seeing the world with clear vision. Then we see the beauty of nature around us and feel the rhythm of our steps on the ground. We may even feel or catch a scent on a breeze. We become fully alive in the moment, aware that body, mind, and spirit are aligned and in harmony with the universe as we move through the world today. "
Discussion - Are your expectations realistic or unrealistic concerning how you think your life should be? Are you living the hand you are dealt or constantly hoping for something different, some life that may not suit you at all for what you have come to learn?
I am learning to surrender, practicing acceptance and patience, and since dropping all my expectations, the things coming my way have been better than what I had hoped for in the past! lol. I think this is what happens, the universe typically has better plans for us than we realize, but in order for our best life to start manifesting, we have to get out of our own way first!
For me, one important step has been to take everything day by day. Its a practice, not something that happens overnight, another important lesson I am learning.
I love this quote from Brene Brown! "expectations are resentments waiting to happen."
Absolutely! We get fried by our own expectations of how our lives SHOULD be instead of appreciating what they ARE!
no say in my life until 21
21 to 42 desperate to marry and have children - no such luck
42 to 63 rebuilding life, university, loss of health, - health first
63 to end keep roof over head, food on table and wait.
The hand that has been dealt me is that of spinsterhood I have been living it and fighting it all my life, so it is time I accept it.
