Hello everyone. I've been in an unstable relationship for about three years now. Circumstance is that I can't just walk away at the moment. I moved here to pursue this and have no support. The more I am with this person the more I realize how little I know them. Overall this person is good hearted. Kind and always willing to help others. When it comes to related to me they can be condescending and cold. Emotionally abusive. Even violent at times. Does anyone have any advice about how to deal with this personality type? As I said it's just not an option for me to get away at this time. What makes a person at like that?

Even if you have to move to a women's shelter, get away from this man. He has unresolved inner issues and takes it out on those around him rather than deal with them himself. You cannot help someone who will not help himself.
