Goodbye Spammers... and good riddance.

Hello Forum Friends --
First, I am sincerely sorry that you could not enjoy the Tarot.com forums for the last couple of weeks. Our team was at a loss and unable to fully explain how and why the spammers had completely taken over.
After several attempts to eradicate them, we had to explore alternative routes. The necessary step we had to take was to block any new member signups until the new forum system is released.
Unfortunately, this includes those truly interested in genuinely engaging in our forums in the way we intended, but our Engineers and myself agreed that this needed to stop for the sake of our current members. Because of this change, we've escalated the priority of our new forums system process and it is undergoing tests and construction as we speak.
Thank you for you long continued patience with us! You have you forums back and you should no longer see spammers. If you do, please contact me at support@tarot.com. I will be keeping a close eye out, but this should be a solid, temporary solution for the time being.
Thank you all!

How do they keep getting through?
-
Without getting too techy... the spammers created a certain number of poster IDs and while we've blocked any new poster IDs from being created, I'm still working to eliminate those created before we made that change.
I'm still trying to work through all the IDs that are actually posting, but I'm getting closer! Fingers crossed we're in the clear. I'm sure there are still many advertisers that are posting and need to be deleted, so holler at me if you see that.

Hi Admin,
thanks for all the work you do. Just a note, before posting the link & reporting the spammers, I checked their registration date and it was the 9th which was after your post about "not allowing registration for now as a remedy." After the 8th. So, that's strange.
And, here is a few of the advertising spammers per your request:

Keep up the good work, Admin, and thanks!

Thanks Admin, glad to see you finally found a solution!

And yet they keep spamming!
-
I have sent admin the names of these current spammers, yet they continue to post.

I think admin sees the same thing as we do. These guys are still registering and spamming while some are old registered trolls and spammers. The only sure way to stop this is to make the registration process more difficult for everyone and subject to verification and approval like many sites like this are doing. Doing that though would require more people and dedicated employees and that would cost more time and money which maybe the problem.

Thanks admin!

Thankd Admin! Let's hope this is the last we see of spammers.
