Can astrology provide view into purpose of life

i'm interested in finding out purpose of my life...can astrology predict the real/main purpose of a birth...i would like to understand...if astrology is meant for it, then I would like to where I can get such a reading (here in Tarot.com?)...
Also, does astrology tell us about "possibilities" in life or does it tell us about things that are meant to happen...can we change or should we try to change what has been predicted...general question that i would like to understand...
